Jyothikshethram is the embodiment of the divine vision of Jagadguru Swami Satyananda Saraswathy Thiruvadikal during the conduct of the unique and divine Aradhana in Sree Rama Dasa Ashsram. During the Aradhana, Swamiji visualizes all seven worlds (Saptha Lokas) in His Divinity. Here, the Jyothikshethram is considered an embodiment of divine grace and celestial harmony. It stands as a testament to the timeless wisdom and spiritual legacy of the revered Brahmashree Neelakanta Gurupadar. Crafted as a celestial abode, it symbolizes the sacred journey of the soul through the seven realms, mirroring the transcendental vision bestowed upon Swamiji during sacred Aradhana. Jagadguru Swami Satyananda Saraswathy Thrippadangal started the construction of Jyothikshethram as a shrine, which commemorates the birth centenary of Brahmasree Neelakanta Gurupadar.
Long before its completion itself, the Jyothikshethram attracted devotees from far and wide, resonating with the sacred chants and invocations during the momentous Shatakodi Sree Lalitha Sahasranama Archana, which started on January 4th, 2000 CE. For 215 consecutive days, the shrine pulsated with divine energy as devotees immersed themselves in devotion, their hearts aglow with reverence.
The sanctity of the temple deepened with the sacred procession of lamps brought from 501 holy shrines across India. Each flame is considered a representation of spiritual illumination, culminating in the radiant embrace of the Jyothikshethram. Witnessing this divine convergence, the devotees beheld a celestial spectacle as a luminous orb that descended from the sky, merging seamlessly with the crown of the shrine, radiating an extremely blissful and ethereal glow. Inscribed in the archive of spiritual history, this miraculous event bestowed upon the shrine the consecrated appellation of 'Jyothi Darsan,' signifying its eternal connection with the celestial realms and the guiding light of the Divine Mother, the Parasakthi.
Furthermore, the Jyothikshetram stands as the sacred resting place of Jagadguru Swami Satyananda Saraswathy Thripadangal, whose luminous presence continues to illuminate the hearts of the devotees. Adhering to Swamiji's divine mandate, the temple now bears witness to the timeless dance of Shiva and the sacred geometry of Sri Chakrameru, evoking the eternal cycles of creation and dissolution.
The Jyothikshethram stands, holding the head high, amidst the sacred trees and plants nurtured by Swamiji's hands. The shrine reverberates with the ancient rhythms of Indian spirituality, a sanctuary where devotees gather to worshipthe divine and seek solace in the eternal truths that transcend the boundaries of time and space.

The architectural design of Jyothikshethram comprises a multi-level conical structure tapering towards the top. The ground floor houses the revered idols of Jagadguru Swami Satyananda Saraswathi Tripadangal, Sri Chakramahameru, and the divine crystal Shiva Linga. Ascending to the first floor, one encounters the sanctum sanctorum dedicated to Brahma Sree Neelakanta Gurupadar. Beyond this, the ascent continues through seven floors, each adorned with a spiral structure inside, symbolizing a spiritual ascent. The outside circular structure of the seven floors is decorated by 32 domes on each floor, specially designed by Swamiji.
| Height of the structure | 108 Feet |

| Outer Circumference of the Chuttumandapam | 696 Feet |
Surrounding this divine edifice, four temples stand, each representing one cardinal direction: the Veerabhadra Swamy, Saraswathi Devi, Hanuman Swamy, and the Agasthya Maharshi. To the west lie the temples dedicated to the seven Ramayana poets. Further west, we find the pond named Gurupaada Theertha and the sacred Nagar Kaavu.
